Skills Acquired or Developed: As a Carpenter Assistant, you will get experience working independently as well as in a team. Skills learned range from repair and care of campus furniture and fixtures, to teamwork and creative problem solving. You will also become familiar with campus: where things are, how things work, and which team can make them happen. Every day brings the opportunity to try something new. - Valid drivers license and willingness to drive a golf cart. Training provided.
- Ability to to lift/haul/carry heavy (50lbs repeatedly) objects and furniture.
- Ability to do physical work for extended periods.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and their proper and safe use.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assigned duties.
- Flexibility to perform various tasks such as painting and cleaning.
