Job Description

The Physics and Astronomy department seeks Graders for the following 100/200-level Physics and Astronomy courses in Fall 2025:

Job functions, responsibilities will include:

  1. Grade homework assignments for the course to which you are assigned. (Hours per week vary, depending on how many graders are assigned to each course, but ~4-6 hours/week on average).
  2. Set and meet deadlines agreeable to both you and the instructor for you to pick up new grading assignments and drop off completed grading assignments.0 

 

Job Requirements

Please do not apply for this job unless you meet the following qualifications:

  1.  Ideally applicants for any of these jobs will have completed PHYS-226 and 227 (Principles of Physics I and II) or their equivalentAt a minimum, candidates must have completed the course (or equivalent coursework to the class) that they wish to grade for. Additonal coursework in Physics and Astronomy is a plus. 
  2. Must be able to establish clear grading criteria and expectations between you and the faculty member teaching the course.
  3. Must be reliable and able to work independently.

Sick and Safe Time

  • Student employees accrue sick and safe time at an accrual rate of one hour for every 30 hours paid.
