Job Requirements: - Qualified candidates must demonstrate Spanish language ability by passing SPAN 305/306 (or an equivalent class) with a grade of B or better, testing out of Spanish via Macalester's language placement exam, or speaking Spanish fluently as a heritage or native speaker
- Preferred candidates are sophomores, juniors or seniors
- First Years candidates should have experiences in Spanish speaking countries or experiences in teaching or tutoring in other settings (i.e. study abroad, language spoken at home (heritage speaker), community work or volunteering, summer camps, etc.)
- Tutors will need to attend the Department’s Orientation meetings that take place twice a year, in fall and spring
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Consistency, patience, reliability
- Friendly demeanor and positive attitude
- Computer skills
- Writing/editing ability
- Willingness to learn and accept responsibility
- Be open to feedback
- Punctuality
- Must be available to work a minimum of 4 hours per week during tutoring hours (M-F 9am-4pm)
