This posting is for an Office Assistant opening for Spring 2026 semester. Training and the start of the position will be the week of January 20, 2026. Job Description The Residential Life Office Assistant (OA) works with a Residence Hall Director to maintain the daily operations of the Hall Office by providing administrative support. OAs are responsible for tracking office equipment and keys, answering residents’ questions, and keeping the office organized. This position is 10 hours per week. Job Responsibilities Office management Answer Hall emails and respond to them in a timely manner (1-2 business days) Keep the office tidy and orderly Work evening shifts in their Hall Office for at least 3 nights per week Completing timely shift report
Maintaining and updating records Maintain accurate inventory of keys, equipment, and office paperwork Manage key and equipment check-outs through online software
Communication with residential students Pick up posters from the Campus Center and hang them in the residential area, twice per week (either Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday) Assist residents with Hall Office needs such as checking out equipment Monitor the Hall Office Email to field residents’ questions, follow up on hall processes, and direct students to appropriate resources Follow-up with anyone who has not returned items checked out from hall office Weekly email to residents with hall office availability Prioritizing customer service, which includes limiting distractions (ex. personal phone calls, friends preventing supporting the office and students, etc)
Special projects related to Residential Life processes Provide administrative support for central Residential Life staff with campus-wide processes, such as Room Draw and closing Coordinate and create area staff biographies through Canva and update as needed each semester
Support Residential Life staff in designated area Maintain communication with the Residence Hall Director and other student staff Assist the Residence Hall Director with any hall office projects as they arise Attend at least (1) team meeting once a month to build relationships with team and update the team of office needs

Job Requirements Applicants must Have a work study through Financial Aid Have a GPA of 2.7 or higher at the time of hiring and maintain good academic standing throughout the term of employment Be in good standing with the College in terms of conduct Be responsible, punctual, reliable, and detail oriented Maintain confidentiality Communicate effectively in verbal and written contexts Be customer service oriented while following protocol Maintaining consistent office hours and/or clear communication when a change needs to be made. Live on campus if this is your first year in the position
