Eligibility Requirements Have full-time student status Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 at the time of application Must be in good standing with the Office of Title IX and Equity and have good disciplinary status with the Office of Student Affairs Experience working with underrepresented people and/or communities
Qualifications The Admissions Office employs around 25 students, including entry level Office Assistants, Multicultural and International Program Assistants, and Admissions Visit Ambassadors. All student employees serve as Ambassadors to Macalester and should be passionate about helping prospective students/families in a variety of ways with their college search process. PRE@Mac Mentors need to be comfortable with a variety of projects, including program management and administrative-based work. Skills should include: Experience working with communities of color Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistently high standards Comfort with projects that require repetition Strong organizational and activity planning skills Clear communication (written and oral) and the ability to ask questions when necessary Strong sense of initiative and self-motivation Ability to adapt easily to changes in program and work schedule
