The Residential Life Services Assistant (RSA) works with the Residential Services Manager (RSM) to maintain the daily operations of Residential Life. The RSA provides administrative support to the RSM and assists with communication (both via phone and email) during business hours (8:30am - 4:30pm).


The RSA is responsible for assisting with the RSM in tracking the central key inventory report, answering residents’ questions, sharing departmental information, and working with The Housing Director (THD) Housing Software. Because this position requires working with student information, FERPA training will be provided.

 

Job Responsibilities

Office management

  • Answer emails and respond to them in a timely manner (1-2 business days)

  • Answer calls (1-2 business days) and pass along calls to respective parties

  • Assist with administrative tasks alongside with the RSM

Maintaining and updating records

  • Maintain accurate inventory of keys and office paperwork

  • Manage key inventory reports and work orders

  • Update THD profiles when necessary

 

Communication with residential students

  • Be a welcoming face for residential students 

 

Special projects related to Residential Life processes

  • Provide administrative support for central Residential Life staff with campus-wide processes, such as Room Draw and closing

  • Coordinate and create area staff biographies through Canva and update as needed each semester

 

Support Residential Life staff in designated area

  • Maintain communication with the Residence Hall Director and other student staff

  • Assist the Residential Staff with any hall office projects as they arise

  • Attend bi-weekly one on ones with RSM

Job Requirements

Applicants must

  • Students with a work study are prioritized for this role.

  • Have a GPA of 2.7 or higher at the time of hiring and maintain good academic standing throughout the term of employment

  • Be in good standing with the College in terms of conduct

  • Be responsible, punctual, reliable, and detail oriented

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written contexts

  • Be customer service oriented while following protocol

  • Student employees accrue sick and safe time at an accrual rate of one hour for every 30 hours paid.
