Job Description

Reunion Coordinators are the glue that holds Reunion together! Reunon weekend is the largest Macalester alumni gathering of the year, with up to 1,600 alumni and guests on campus,and up to 70 events happening in a 72 hour period. Coordinators create, populate and manage the schedule of Reunion Assistants to ensure that Reunion runs smoothly, staff have the support they need, and alumni and guests have an enjoyable time back on campus.Reunion Coordinators can expect to work 10 hours leading up to Reunion, 40 hours or more in the 2 weeks before Reunion, and up to 35 hours during Reunion weekend. Reunion Coordinators assist with a wide range of tasks, including: 

  • Assisting in scheduling and managing approximately 40 Reunion Assistants before and during Reunion weekend
  • Attend 2-3 Reunion staff meetings to develop a thorough knowledge of Reunion
  • Assist with updating Reunion documentation, spreadsheets, and the Reunion website
  • Other Reunion planning duties as assigned, which may include organizing Reunion supplies, driving golf carts during Reunion (not required), and managing Reunion Student Headquarters.
Job Requirements

Coordinators must:

  • be able to handle varied and numerous duties effectively with minimal supervision;

  • have exceptional organizational skills;

  • be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive;

  • be comfortable handling multiple projects, priorities, and people;

  • know how to stay (or appear) calm in the midst of chaos;

  • be able to work long hours;

  • have a really good sense of humor;

Reunion work experience is preferred, and management or team leadership experience is a plus, but neither are required. Our insurance policy mandates that Coordinators must have a valid US driver's license in order to operate golf carts – this is preferred but not required. Coordinators will not be able to work any other job, on or off-campus, from May 22 through June 11, but are able to work another job during the Spring semester.
