Job Description

Openings are for the 2025-26 School Year

Accepting applications for the Community Engagement Organizer positions for the 2025-26 school year. Openings are:

Youth/College Access; Environment & Sustainability; Housing, Work, and Food Justice; Dialogue Cohorts; Health & Wellness

All Issue Organizers share the same basic job responsibilities:

  • Community Partnerships: Help develop and co-create ongoing relationships between the campus and community partners.
  • Managing Community Engagement of Students: Recruit students and support them to connect with community-based engagement opportunities.
  • Education: Lead campus efforts in educating campus and community about issue area by facilitating collaboration between on-campus organizations and departments as well as planning education events around the issue.
  • Community Engagement: As a student leader, support key CEC work and spend two hours per week off-campus leading a group of students in civic engagement.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist in general CEC office tasks to further the actions of the CEC as a whole.
Job Requirements
  • Work study is required for this position
  • Required Staff Meetings & Trainings, Two Tuesdays each month from 11:30am-1:00pm
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated
  • Familiarity with the issue area to which you are applying
  • Proven record working in a team environment and showing initiative to create and complete projects
  • Supportive of CEC civic engagement philosophy and comfortable educating peers about issues related to work in the community
  • Return to campus early for retreat and to assist with civic engagement during new student orientation

Please Note: Work-Study employment awards cannot be split between the CEC Issue Area positions and other on-campus positions. The entire award must be earned within the CEC.

Sick and Safe Time

  • Student employees accrue sick and safe time at an accrual rate of one hour for every 30 hours paid. 
  • Sick and safe time is not paid out upon departure.
