Job Description

The Institutional Equity Program Assistant will work with their direct supervisor to support the Division of Institutional Equity with Heritage and History Month events/programs and Equity Education Workshops. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design flyers, social media posts, and Mac Daily posts for events, programs, and workshops. 

  • Create RSVP forms for events, programs, and workshops to be shared across campus. 

  • Connect with caterers and organize catering orders for History and Heritage Month Community Luncheons.

  • Search for Twin Cities Connections’ off-campus events and programs and inquire for additional information (i.e., student group discounts, transportation services, etc).

  • Collate event/program/workshop attendance data and feedback responses into a spreadsheet for assessment and archival purposes.

  • Collaborate with student organizations and clubs for history and heritage month events and programming. 

  • Assist with day-of event/program/workshop needs such as set-up and clean-up, when available. 

  • Schedule and attend weekly meetings with the direct supervisor. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Work study is required for this position

  • Must be able to work 7-10 hours per week (we are unable to accommodate split awards) 

  • Foundational knowledge of social justice concepts and equity principles 

  • Commitment to personal reflection, growth, and ongoing learning 

  • Able to receive and integrate constructive feedback 

  • Proficiency in Google Drive and Google Calendar 

  • Ability to manage 2-3 different concurrent project timelines and meet deadlines

  • Working knowledge of social media/graphic design platforms such as Adobe Express, Instagram, and Linktree.

Sick and Safe Time

  • Student employees accrue sick and safe time at an accrual rate of one hour for every 30 hours paid. 
  • Sick and safe time is not paid out upon departure.
